About the Book
ese Re ective Prayers consider a pondering over the assembly of texts for a given occasion, a service at which the readings from the Revised Common Lectionary are read. e notion that inspired the process of this re ection came from e Prayers of Catherine of Siena, where the editor-translator, Suzanne No ke, O.P. , noted that Catherine’s prayers, recorded by her confessor, followed the readings at daily Mass. Over the years, these re ections have proved valuable to me and have come to be published in this form in batches of 90. is volume contains the prayers over several years, beginning in May of 2003.
About the Author
I am a retired minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) currently living in central Illinois. In the process of my ministry, I came to adapt several varieties of expression and search into my responses to the Scripture and my ministry more generally. Many of these have come to be published through AuthorHouse.com. Among them are these Reflective Prayers, seeking to put into form the resonance felt with regard to the Lectionary readings for a given service. They continue because I have found them useful and helpful in my own work. And I continue to publish them because I have felt them to be of value to my readers. I continue to live with my wife of 57 years, our two dogs and several cats in the retirement we are enjoying.
